David Beckham will win his 100th England cap in the friendly against France on Wednesday, coach Fabio Capello has confirmed.
"I couldn't make him come all the way from the USA and not play him," said Capello, who did not reveal whether Beckham, 32, would start the fixture.
"Nobody knows what the future holds. The David Beckham I know can get to 2010 if he works and trains hard.
The next World Cup takes place in South Africa in two year's time
"If he carries on training and working hard as he is, he can easily last," added Capello.
Former England captain Beckham will join a select band of England centurions on Wednesday, joining Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Billy Wright and Peter Shilton.
I do not expect Beckham to be in any England squads after this one
Whether Beckham could surpass Shilton's record of 125 caps is uncertain but he does feel he can still be involved come the 2010 World Cup.
"It is something I want to reach," said Beckham, who will have just turned 35 by the time the tournament in South Africa starts.
"I would love to play and be part of the squad in 2010. But I'm taking it as it comes - who knows what is round the corner?
"The combination of the players and the combination of manager and staff is setting us up right for the qualification games for the World Cup."
Beckham was left out of the first squad by former coach Steve McClaren - and the LA Galaxy player revealed he did not think he would reach the 100-cap mark.
"It is not about 'have your 100th game and then retire'. It is about carrying on trying to play well for my country," added Beckham on Monday.
"I never thought a year ago or two years ago that I would make 95 caps, never mind 100.

"I'm honoured that I'm making, hopefully, my 100th appearance in an England shirt but I'm also honoured to be doing it against one of the best teams in the world."
Rio Ferdinand - captain for the match - paid tribute to his former Manchester United team-mate.
"Not many players get to play 100 times for their country so it is a huge honour," said Ferdinand.
"He has never stopped working hard, he has been a great servant and he fully deserves to win his 100th cap.
"Five players in the history of English football have managed that. He is with some illustrious names, some icons of the sport and he is a worthy member of that list."

France makes Big Changes in Rugby 15.

France coach Marc Lievremont has sprung yet more selection surprises in making eight changes to his 22 for the Six Nations match against Italy on 9 March.
Six players who began the 24-13 loss to England - Cedric Heymans, Morgan Parra, Thierry Dusautoir, Lionel Faure, Julien Bonnaire and David Marty - drop out.
David Skrela and William Servat have also been omitted from the 22.
Uncapped quintet Fabien Barcella, Yann David, Guilhem Guirado, Julien Tomas and Ibrahim Diarra have been called up.

Not one to gloat ~ but the Scots were stuffed.
Pas un seul pour me faire gloire ~ mais les Écossais étaient farcis.
The real surprise was how really poor the Scots were.
La vraie surprise fut vraiment comment les pauvres étaient écossais.

1. We the undersigned, acting by authority of the German High Command, hereby surrender unconditionally to the Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force and simultaneously to the Supreme [3] Department of State Bulletin, July 22, 1945.

2. The German High Command will at once issue orders to all German military, naval and air authorities and to all forces under German control to cease active operations at 2301 hours Central European time on 8th May 1945, to remain in the positions occupied at that time and to disarm completely, handing over their weapons and equipment to the local allied commanders or officers designated by Representatives of the Allied Supreme Commands. No ship, vessel, or aircraft is to be scuttled, or any damage done to their hull, machinery or equipment, and also to machines of all kinds, armament, apparatus, and all the technical means of prosecution of war in general.
3. The German High Command will at once issue to the appropriate commanders, and ensure the carrying out of any further orders issued by the Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force and by the Supreme High Command of the Red Army.
4. This act of military surrender is without prejudice to, and will be superseded by any general instrument of surrender imposed by, or on behalf of the United Nations and applicable to GERMANY and the German armed forces as a whole.
5. In the event of the German High Command or any of the forces under their control failing to act in accordance with this Act of Surrender, the Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force and the Supreme High Command of the Red Army will take such punitive or other action as they deem appropriate.

Hols in France
FRENCH HOLIDAYS & FESTIVALS
The French enjoy 11 national jours feriés (holidays) annually. The civic calendar was first instituted in 1582; Bastille Day was incorporated in 1789, Armistice Day in 1918, Labor Day in 1935, and Victory Day in 1945. During the month of May, there is a holiday nearly every week, so be prepared for stores, banks and museums to shut their doors for days at a time. It is a good idea to call museums, restaurants and hotels in advance to make sure they will be open.
Trains and roads near major cities tend to get busy around the national holidays. Not coincidentally, this also happens to be the time when service unions (such as transporters, railroad workers, etc.) like to go on strike — something of a tradition, in fact. Travelers would do well to check ahead, particularly when planning a trip for the last week of June or first week of July!
There are also many regional festivals throughout France which are not included in our calendar. ViaFrance hosts an excellent site which lists fairs and festivals, traditional ceremonies, as well as sporting events, concerts, and trade shows for all regions throughout France. Under the law, every French citizen is entitled to 5 weeks of vacation.
Most of the natives take their summer vacations in July or August, and many major businesses are then closed. All of France takes to the roads, railroads, boats, and airways. Consequently, traveling in France during August is generally not recommended for foreigners.
